Changing Your Steam Inventory Details

It is important to note once you set your Steam profile to private Steam profile, it will give you limited access to other members unless you change it to public visibility. The great thing is however you can have exceptions by only allowing your Steam friends or even close friends to view your Steam profile and game details. In this guide at SkinMarkets, we will show you how you can make your Steam profile public or private by choosing your privacy state. Which can always be edited on the Steam profile privacy settings page, by choosing what user can see your game details and played games.

When trading skins on sites listed on our website, such as CSGO Trading Sites and maybe another game title such as our list of Rust Trading Sites it is vital that your Steam inventory is set to public. We will show you how can make your inventory public or Steam inventory private, which we do not recommend, as this gives you limited access to the trading sites listed on our platform. Or if you receive a Steam gift inventory skin from a friend. Having your Steam inventory set to provide disabled you to receive Steam gifts in the form of a skin., We always recommend having your inventory setting set to Public within the Steam app.

Now in the edit profile settings page. Click the drop down menu on my profile and make sure this is set to Public. As your Steam profile needs to be set to public, before you can make your Steam Inventory public, now you are set up to receive trade offers, by using your Steam trade URL and by ensuring you are eligible to trade on Steam and to also make sure you use your Steam Authenticator.

Then simply select the drop down menu next to inventory and set it to public, as seen in the photo. You can also select privacy settings to friends only, which means the only people who can see your inventory is you and your friends list.

Once you select your option it is then saved automatically, no need to look for a save button.

How to Make Steam Inventory Private

Selecting Private

To make a private inventory setting you can edit profile by simply selecting private. However, as stated previously, having it set to private does not allow you to get trade offers for your inventory. This means you can’t trade or allow a Steam gift as you won’t be able to trade and receive trade offers.
